The 2026-2027 season at the Target Margin Theater begins on Sept. 17 with The Nonsense Lab, a three-week performance festival of new work that explores the theme of Nonsense, this according to an Aug. 18 press release.
The Nonsense Lab includes three performances: Let Me Be an Animal, a dance by choreographer Caroline Fermin, “celebrating the slow, awkward, sweaty, and questioning parts of ourselves”; We’ll Jump Off That Bridge When We Get There, a five-person performance about politics, pop culture, and history by Target Margin’s Associate Artistic Director Adam M. Kassim; and toy theater creator/puppeteer Kathleen Kennedy Tobin‘s The Charnel House, a puppet show that explores memories of past lives in New York City.
“The work of Caroline, Adam, and Kathleen epitomize our Lab Festival’s purpose. Each will respond to the idea of Nonsense in their own ways, to create vividly diverse works, and each work will expand what our audiences think the term can mean. The person who can experience all three, along with our one-time events in music and performance, will enjoy an event much greater than the sum of its parts. That’s our mission. Whatever you think, think different,” Target Margin Theater Artistic Director David Herskovits said in the press release.
The Nonsense Lab runs Sept. 17-Oct. 3, offering three productions, each for six performances, and three one-night events at Target Margin Theater’s The Doxsee (232 52nd St., Brooklyn). Tickets, which start at $20, are now on sale at www.targetmargin.org.
